Description
Our natural sage essential oil for aromatherapy is obtained from the plant with the botanical name Salvia officinalis. In international practice, the product bears the name Sage natural essential oil for aromatherapy. The species belongs to the family Lamiaceae, which unites herbaceous and subshrub-like plants from the temperate latitudes of Europe and its neighbouring regions. The temperate latitudes of Bulgaria offer a suitable climate, so the plantations complete their entire cycle naturally and without artificial intervention in the development of the crop. The free development of the crops shows in the raw material, as the stalk gradually accumulates its volatile constituents and retains the full range of substances of the herb. During steam distillation, the stalk releases only its volatile part, which is why the scent of the liquid remains true to the herb. The aroma reveals a medium to strong intensity. The intensity leads from a fresh opening tone through a light sweetness to a floral-fruity roundness at the end of the olfactory line. The fresh note and the fruity roundness accompany the pale yellowish appearance of the oil. The pale hue comes precisely from the green aboveground part, which releases few colouring substances during extraction. The composition of the liquid remains entirely natural, as nothing other than the harvested stalk enters it either before or after the separation of the volatile part. Preservatives do not enter the distillate, and colourants are absent. The absence of supplements leaves the olfactory characteristic entirely to the raw material itself from the Bulgarian field. The purity of the composition and the origin of the harvest outline the main advantages of the product. The advantages are evident in the uniform olfactory profile that the sage stalk releases during the steam distillation of the gathered ripe harvest. The liquid form gives the product uniformity in every volume.
Application
Natural sage essential oil is suitable for diffusers and ultrasonic aromatherapy devices, where it freshens the air and creates a balancing and harmonious atmosphere in the home, the office, yoga studios and meditation spaces. Added in a small amount to a sweet almond, jojoba or coconut carrier oil, it is successfully included in massage blends for relaxing body treatments and spa rituals. It is suitable for steam inhalers, in which a few drops in hot water provide a refreshing and purifying effect on the respiratory tract, as well as for aromatic baths through prior dilution in sea salt or milk for more even distribution. It is used for scented candles and reed diffusers, in which it releases its fresh, slightly sweet and warm herbal aroma over a long period. It is used in evening rituals for deep relaxation and sleep support, in morning and energizing formulas for alertness and attunement, as well as in compositions for concentration and mental clarity during mental fatigue. It helps relieve emotional tension and anxiety and restore inner balance. It is suitable for scenting linen, textiles and decorative elements, for freshening rooms with stale air and for self-massage practices. It combines harmoniously with lavender, rosemary, lemon and basil, as well as with adaptogenic oils in emotional blends with woody and citrus notes.
Storage
Store natural sage essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +5°C to +20°C to prevent oxidation and loss of beneficial properties. After opening, limit the amount of air in the packaging, and as the contents decrease, transfer the remainder into a smaller, clean and dry bottle. Use only aluminium or glass bottles for aromatherapy products, preferably made of dark glass, which protect the essential oil for aromatherapy from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and moisture from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the aroma and quality of the product for a longer period.
